David Escamilla
Harvard University

David Escamilla graduated as Valedictorian in 2006 from Jesuit College Preparatory in Dallas, Texas.  A senior at Harvard College, he is majoring in Economics, focusing on economic policy and corporate governance. He served as Portfolio Manager from 2009-2010.

Through his studies, extracurricular activities, and internships, David has developed a passion for investing. He has worked on Wall Street trading and investment banking groups, gaining insights on market movements, company valuations, and strategic manuevers. His other jobs at car dealerships, air compressor distributors, and real estate firms have provided him with a wide array of practical business experiences.  As a GPS member, David applies these experiences to “buy the underlying business rather than the stock”.

David enjoys participating in Harvard’s various student-run organizations in different capacities. He has served as an investment competition founder, election commissioner, editor-in-chief of a business magazine, fellows selection committee chair at the Institute of Politics, conference coordinator of a multicultural business conference, and a seminar leader for a conference held in Shanghai, China.

The son of Mexican immigrants, David is bicultural and aspires to play a role in the economic growth of the U.S. Latino community.  He monitors opportunities in the U.S. market, along with those in Latin America through his involvement with various Latino and Latin American organizations.

David is an avid runner who has finished the Boston Marathon as a Harvard student representative. He enjoys following the Dallas Cowboys, playing soccer, and listening to Texas country music.
