Lap Him Tong
London School of Economics
Tong Lap Him completed his Bachelor of Science in Accounting & Finance at the London School of Economics and is currently working as a summer intern in Goldman Sachs Investment Partners. Lap Him previously graduated from Raffles Junior College in Singapore, where he was a nationally ranked athlete.
In summer 2007, Lap Him interned in Barclays Capital where he supported the forex trading desk in their daily operations. In summer 2008, he developed his passion for investing by working in Novatera Capital, where he focused on conducting fundamental research on small/mid cap equities across Asia. As a GPS member, he is continually searching for businesses with a durable competitive advantage. In parallel to his university studies, he worked as a research analyst at Liongate Capital Management, a multi-billion dollar alternative investment firm specializing in constructing portfolios of hedge funds.
On campus, Lap Him serves on the advisory board of the LSE Alternative Investments Conference, Eu rope's largest student conference on hedge funds and private equity, having previously served as Director of Branding. Lap Him also retains an interest in social entrepreneurship, acting as the London liaison for the Ashoka Foundation. Lap Him has been nominated as a Freshminds Ones to Watch in the UK.
Aside from following the financial markets, Lap Him enjoys pursuing his interests in technology, design and typography. He has developed this interest by taking a master-class in typography at St Martin's School of Art and Design and hopes to create his own personal font someday.
