Jhanavi Pathak

Jhanavi Pathak graduated from St. Petersburg High School with an International Baccalaureate Diploma and currently studies Economics, Finance, Management, and Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In high school, Jhanavi was selected to attend the American Legion Auxiliary's ( ALA ) Girls State , where she was voted the Most Outstanding Delegate and Most Outstanding Senator from amongst 300+ young women, and was selected to represent the State of Florida at Girls Nation in Washington , D.C. She was also asked to be the Keynote Speaker at the ALA 's State Conference in Orlando . Jhanavi was also honored to be chosen to serve as the Student Ambassador of St. Petersburg to Japan and the city of Takamatsu , where she lived for a month filling various Ambassadorial duties

A former soccer player in one of the top 10 clubs in the US and scouted two years in a row for the Olympic Development Program, Jhanavi left soccer after multiple knee surgeries and pursued her interests in international affairs and public speaking by participating in Model United Nations and Debate. Also driven by a deep passion for philanthropy, Jhanavi successfully raised thousands of dollars and created and managed several Cancer Support Groups, HOPE Posters Campaigns, and Arts in Medicine Programs, and seeks to continue providing resources and care to cancer patients, their families, and their caregivers.

At MIT, Jhanavi has served as a Senator on the Undergraduate Association, was selected as the Chairperson of International Development for the Forum on American Progress, is a proud Sister of Kappa Alpha Theta, and was elected the Class of 2010 Representative to the Sloan Undergraduate Management Association - MIT's premier Management organization. Jhanavi was also the Runner-Up Recipient of Sigma Phi Epsilon's prestigious Balanced Man Scholarship.

Jhanavi deeply enjoys finance and business, from strategic development to communications and marketing. She is currently on the Management Team of Peer-Review-Music, and is actively developing business projects in Europe and the USA.

Jhanavi also pursues a balanced life, coupling her academic and professional interests with a love for languages, travel, dancing, scuba diving, sports, philanthropic and work. She feels honored to be a member of GPS, and looks forward to learning and helping shape the organization's bright future.
