Benjamin Wigoder
Vice President of Technology
London School of Economics
Benjamin graduated from secondary school with A's in Maths, Physics, Economics and English Literature. He is now a second year undergraduate at the London School of Economics reading Management.
Benjamin started investing aged 13 and since then has tried and tested several approaches to the stock market. There are a few factors which really drive his interest: he genuinely feels that when he buys a stock he buys a part of the company, the fact that no matter how much you read up on or analyse a company there is still more to learn, and the fact that for those who master the ‘game', the rewards make the hard work worthwhile. (Although there is nothing lost in the quest for knowledge for knowledge's sake.)
Benjamin's primary investing interest has been within the tech sector, and this has been mirrored throughout his teenage years where he taught himself programming in a variety of languages and designed several games and websites. He is through and through a tech geek. He very much enjoys taking a logical nature to investing and if he had to choose his favourite investor of our time it would be David Einhorn, for his foresight, independence of mind and charitable nature.
Having already enjoyed a variety of internships within hedge funds and banks, he has secured an internship for summer 2010 with the rates trading desk at JP Morgan, in London.
In his free time Benjamin enjoys playing chess, squash (and Wii boxing!) and dreaming up new entrepreneurial ventures.
